About Us
Each year, more and more people of color are met with various complexities here in the United States. The number of black people who are either unemployed or incarcerated dwarfs that of their white counterparts by over 75%, and their Hispanic counterparts by almost 35%. In 2017, the adult population of the United States was 12%, but accounted for 33% of the U.S. sentenced prison population. While looking at those numbers is indeed troubling to the black community, it is also well understood considering many of the things people of color in general must incur throughout their lives. While there are more people or color attending college institutions and receiving degrees, there is a huge disparity in the number of jobs between them and their white counterparts.
A great deal of this disparity points towards the education system of the United states. Schools with a high percentage of minority students are often underfunded and do not have the training/learning materials that other schools have to educate their students. The curriculum also plays a role, as these underfunded schools can only provide a “basic” education for their students, and unable to provide more advanced training in areas such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The Lifestrong Project strives to eliminate these issues by providing young people of color the needed training, guidance and coaching to assist them in traversing through the countless issues they very well may encounter in their lives. We believe that leaders are developed, and leadership is a continuous learning process. This is the mentality we approach these issues with. We aim to not only empower the individual, but to create a powerful network of support to assist them throughout their lives. Our hope is that the leaders that are developed through The Lifestrong Corporation will use their acquired knowledge and resources to assist their younger counterparts, thus creating a continuous cycle of support.Project

The LifeStrong Project is a non-profit organization designed to help young, disadvantaged men and women, ages 18-29, to improve their personal and professional lives through mentorship, leadership and change development.

We believe every disadvantaged youth should be given the chance to follow their dreams and make a difference in their community. Our purpose is to provide the tools necessary for them to accomplish that.
Our leadership programs develop confident young people who are ready to make a positive impact in the world. We do this by increasing their self-esteem and sharing vast knowledge with them that will help them navigate through many of life's obstacles that may come their way.
What We Believe
We believe that to truly give someone the opportunity to make a "change" in themselves or their future, they must acquire the knowledge to make the proper adjustments to do so. We aim to give this knowledge through:
The LifeStrong Project strives not to discipline or judge, but to give people the ability to make the changes in their own lives as they see fit. This allows people to constantly self-evolve when the necessity arises as opposed to the need for prompting from others.
